    1. Heart disease

Smokers in their thirties and forties have a heart attack rate that is five times higher than their nonsmoking peers. Cigarette smoking may be directly responsible for at least 20% of all deaths from heart disease, or about 120,000 deaths annually. Smoking cigars may also increase the risk of early death from heart disease, although evidence is much stronger for cigarette smoking.

The harmful effects of smoking on the body and overall health of smokers presented in the list below, only begins to convey some of the short and long term side effects of smoking cigarettes.

Quitting makes sense for many reasons but simply put: smoking kills and the effects of second hand smoke are also bad for the health of those around you.
Every year hundreds of thousands of people around the world die from diseases caused by smoking cigarettes - Smoking KILLS.
One in two lifetime smokers will die from their habit. Half of these deaths will occur in middle age.
Tobacco smoke also contributes to a number of cancers.
The mixture of nicotine and carbon monoxide in each cigarette you smoke temporarily increases your heart rate and blood pressure, straining your heart and blood vessels.
This can cause heart attacks and stroke. It slows your blood flow, cutting off oxygen to your feet and hands. Some smokers end up having their limbs
    amputated.

the only benefit that smoking has benn found as per medical terminology is that helps people suffering from Parkinsons to overcome those dis orders. However the adverse effects of it surpass this one. So it's better to stay out of that loop and live a healthy living.

Smoking is a danger to the body and recent scientific studies shows that there is a strong association between smoking and mental health disorders. Some people even think smoking as their way to relax because of stress but instead of helping people to relax, smoking actually increases anxiety and tension. Tobacco contains nicotine and it creates an immediate sense of relaxation so people smoke in the belief that it reduces stress and anxiety. Staying away from smoking can also help maintain good physical and mental health.

Smoking injurious to health as everyone knows and it eventually affects the overall body parts. But I have read a article that explains like, if a person can stop his smoking habit at the age of forty, then he can be safe from several unwanted injuries.

I agree with you, death awaits us if we don't quit smoking, though we cannot avoid death but if we smoke, the faster it could happen

Nicotine is the addictive substance in tobacco that causes smokers to continue their smoking habit. Cigarette smoking affects your health and every part of your body - both inside and out. The main health risks from smoking are lung cancer, heart disease and stroke.
