Talking How do you prevent cancer?

There have been a bunch of clinical studies that show a ton of vitamin C will help prevent cancer. I imagine it would help with fighting it too. Generally you need about 10 grams a day, but it varies per person. If you get diarreah it means your body is flushing the excess out and it is time to cut back by a gram. It is not dangerous to take that much and there isn't any excess that is stored in the body to hurt your body. That is why you need to take it daily.

For me it has cut back on my getting colds and allergies a lot!

Apparently Vitamin D is very important when it comes to cancer prevention and most populations in the higher latitudes don't get enough. It's recommended to take it in supplement form. I recently had my Vitamin D measured and it turned out I was so far below the norm it wasn't even on the chart. I'm taking a supplement now and I notice other health benefits from taking it.

Also, regarding prevention of prostate cancer, I recently read that a man having a venereal disease during his lifetime is closely correlated with developing prostate cancer later on. So all men who are sexually active with more than one partner should be wearing condoms to avoid contracting a venereal diseases.

I would say that 10 grams per day is too much :-) When you just got sick - in first day it is recommended to take 1 gram and in folowing days just a few milligrams. I believe that all vitamins are important and plays certain roles in the human body. Considering current people life style and dietary habbits, antioxidants are becoming an important element of people diet. Antioxidants are widely used as ingredients in dietary supplements and have been investigated for the prevention of diseases such as cancer, coronary heart disease and even altitude sickness.

i think the best way to prevent cancer is to not smoke or chew tobacco. Many cancers can be prevented by avoiding risk factors such as excessive exposure to sunlight and heavy drinking

    - A healthy body weight needs to be maintained
    - Avoid alcohol as much as possible
    - Consume lots of vegetables and fruits
    - Exercise

But all these are only helping, but there is no sure way to prevent cancer.
Very important: have your breast checked at least 2 times a year, or whenever you have pain.

The mineral selenium is one of the best cancer fighters there is. It is not only a good antioxidant but it also renews your glutathione which you body makes but as we age it gets depleted. You can find good information at www.seleniumresearch.com
Other antioxidants vitamin C,A and E, green tea grape seed extract. Foods like tomatoes especially prostrate cancer.
Changing your cooking habits - no fried foods, no oils, no margarine, no mayo. All contain trans fatty acids that promote cancer.
Dr Otto Warburg got a Nobel Prize in 1931 showing that cancer needs an acid environment and a lack of Oxygen to survive. He said he could make any cell cancerous by depriving it of oxygen and reverse if by giving it oxygen.
So if you keep your body alkaline and have a good oxygen in your blood your are on your way for being cancer free
