Default Has diabetes affected my eyesight?

    Hi all,

I've had type 2 diabetes since 2011, right after my dad passed on.

Anyway, about 2 weeks ago, I began to notice the black text on my computer's monitor. I know it's black, because I've seen it. But since the past couple of weeks, I have noticed that black text seems to have a reddish green cast to it.

I thought it was just my computer's monitor, until last night when I was reading a book in bed, and I saw this same red color to it.

Has this happened to anyone else? Do you think it could be my diabetes messing with my eye sight?

Any and ALL comments will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Alex

P.S. I drew up an example of what it looks like to me. It should be attached to this post.

Diabetes also exacerbates glaucoma and some other diseases of the eye.

Macula, which is the central part of the retina of the eye, is responsible for detailed vision and colour perception. I think that there may be a problem with your macula. It is better to seek help from a retina specialist or a neuro-ophthalmologist.

Although individuals with diabetes are more likely to develop cataracts at a younger age and are twice as likely to develop glaucoma as are non-diabetics, the primary vision problem caused by diabetes is diabetic retinopathy, the leading cause of new cases of blindness and low vision in adults aged 20-65

Have consulted an ophthalmologist regarding on your situation, they can give you a better diagnosis. Though we might say diabetes can affect even to our eyesight.
